PayCam

Overview

A fully simulated, full-stack African payment gateway giving students across Cameroon and Africa production-grade payment infrastructure to build against, for free. No Stripe, no real MoMo APIs required.

The Challenge

Student developers across Cameroon and Africa had no free, realistic way to prototype against MTN MoMo, Orange Money, or crypto payment flows without expensive real-provider API access.

The Solution

Architected a unified API supporting MTN MoMo and Orange Money simulation, Luhn-validated test card payments, and real blockchain testnet crypto (BTC, ETH, USDT). Built the Flutter customer wallet app, the most original component, handling MoMo/crypto wallets, real-time FCM payment approvals, and PIN + Telegram OTP session security. Celery + RabbitMQ power async FCM push, OTP delivery, webhook retries, blockchain monitoring via Alchemy/Infura, and daily exchange-rate updates. Published official Python (paycam) and JavaScript (paycam-js) SDKs.

Outcome

A complete, self-contained payment simulation stack (wallet app, SDKs, and async infrastructure) that other student developers can integrate against without needing real payment provider access.
